Why the African Penguin is Endangered
The African Penguin is becoming endangered because of a couple of reasons. One reason is that there is over fishing where they live and that means that they can't find food as easily because fish is their main food source. Also there have been two oil spills since 1990 which has oiled and killed 30,000 African Penguins. Another reason is that tourist have been getting close to the penguins which has caused them to be scared to breed. From 2000 to 2009 the African Penguin has been categorized as vulnerable. Then it was moved to the endangered catigory in 2010 because of the reasons above and shifts of their prey population along the South African coast. If we don't do anything now these animals will become extinct.
